Caring & Fellowship Actions –

Yoga Classes at CSUMC: Tues @ 5:30 PMJune 29, July 6,13,20, & 27 and on Fri @ 10:00 AMJuly 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30.  There will be NO yoga classes in the month of August.

 

Let's Get Moving!  Continuing on Tuesdays, join Kay Blankenship @ 11:00 AM for line dancing. Sunday morning “sound techs” needed: youth & adults interested in helping with “minor sound adjustment” talk to Rev. Ronnie.

 

2010 flower calendars -- Select a date, sign your name, fill out an info sheet, & attach a check payable to CSUMC marked altar flowers - $41.23 each arrangement. Donors are asked to return the reusable containers with oasis by the following Friday.

Calendar openings for arrangement signups scattered throughout Oct, Nov & Dec; call the church office to sign up.

 

Sunday Coffee Welcome Center: Stop by for coffee, greet a visitor, or a friend that you haven't seen in awhile.  Coffee & hot water for tea or hot chocolate are outside the sanctuary before & after our services.   Volunteer “hosts” STILL needed in July & August.   June is hosted by the Living the Faith class.

 

 

 

Educational Events –

The youth are teaching our Children's Sunday school classes this summer! Adult volunteers are needed each Sunday ONLY for supervision in July & Aug - NO teaching duties. Let Julia, Karen, or Teresa know if you can help.

Committee & Group Plans --

Join the JOY Group to see “First Baptist of Ivy Gapat the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre on July 8.  This comedy/drama will keep you in stitches & tears as secrets are revealed in this small-town Tennessee church.  $32.00 for the meal, transportation, & show.  Our church bus will leave from the lower parking lot @ 11:00 AM & return by 5:00 PM.  Sign up on the JOY bulletin board. 

 

ALL men of the church are invited to join our United Methodist Men for breakfast & an inspirational program on Sat, July 10 at  8:00 AM in our Fellowship Hall.

Children & Youth Ministries

3rd, 4th, & 5th graders - Join the F.A.S.T. Crowd to learn cool stuff on weekly fieldtrips, Tues & Thurs, June 29 - July 29,

9:00-noon. (Cost: $125).  Forms on bulletin boards & outside the crib room. Starts TODAY!

 

Veggie Tots & Kids: Veggie Town Values – On the Job for nursery thru 2nd graders BEGINS TODAY, Tues, June 29 and continues each Tues & Thurs through July 29, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM.  Sign up now for Bible stories, crafts, recreation, healthy snacks & more   All 5 weeks for $125.  Registration forms available for our remaining openings! 

 

Appalachian Service Project Team: send the balance of your payment to the church NOW (checks to CSUMC, marked “ASP”)  & all completed forms.  Questions, contact Pastor John.  STILL NEEDING 1 ADULT VOLUNTEER – talk to Rev John.

Community & Outreach Ministries

Apostle’s Build construction & food volunteers needed, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, July 17 & 31; contact Terry Altizer (989-5157).

RAM House – bleach, paper towels, hand soap, sugar, teabags (family size)

CHIP & COP – summer clothing, towels, washcloths, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair combs, sunscreen lotion, inset repellant

Food Pantry – jelly, canned pasta, spaghetti sauce, caned meats or meals with meat, canned fruits & vegetables
