Cave Spring offers Weekday School and Mother's Day Out programs as a part of the Outreach Ministry of the church. The programs include classes for infants, two, three, four and five year olds.

Weekday School

The philosophy of the Weekday School is to encourage the growth and meet the needs of the whole child: spiritually, emotionally, socially, mentally and physically. We are a bridge between home and "big school" and strive to help build the self esteem and confidence that every child needs.

The school year begins in early September and continues through the end of May. The school day is from 9:00 AM -12:00 noon for two and three year olds, and 9:00 AM -12:05 PM for four and five year olds and car pools.

The two year olds may attend Weekday School on a one, two or three day a week basis, Tuesday through Thursday. There are two teachers in the classroom with nine or ten children each day. Three year olds may attend Weekday School on a two day (Tuesday-Thursday) or a three day (Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday) basis. There are eight or nine children and one teacher in a self-contained classroom. The four and five year olds may attend Weekday School on a three day (Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday) or four day a week basis (Monday-Thursday). A ratio of ten children to one teacher will be kept in all four and five year old classes. Further information plus applications are available from the church office, 989-3673.

Mother's Day Out

Cave Spring UMC offers a Mother's Day Out Program for children who are not two years old by September. It is held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 AM -12:00 noon and begins in September and ends in May. Children may be enrolled for one or more days a week. Our policy is to have one worker for every four children. Further information plus applications are available from the church office, 989-3673.

The CSUMC School follows the Roanoke County Schools' vacation and inclement weather schedules.

Weekday School Late Pickup Notice

All children should be picked up by 12:10 PM on regular school days and by 1:00 PM on Lunch Bunch days. In accordance with Weekday School Board policy, a late fee of $5.00 will be charged beginning with the 2nd late pickup. An additional charge of $3.00 per minute will be made after 12:30 PM on regular days and after 1:10 PM on Lunch Bunch days.
